Most of what shortens the life of bedding and towels is fabric softener and too hot a dryer. Both are easy to stop.

Take linen out of the machine damp, shake it hard once, and put it straight on the bed. It dries in place and the creases fall out. Doing this is the difference between linen that looks made and linen that looks slept in.
Wash at 60 °C for hygiene, and never with fabric softener. Softener leaves a silicone film on the loops, which is exactly the surface that absorbs water — a few washes with it and a good towel stops working. If yours already feels waxy, run it once at 60 °C with 100 ml of white vinegar and no detergent.
Tumble drying raises the pile on terry, so the 600 gsm towels come out plusher from a dryer than from a line. The waffle towels are the opposite: line dry them.
Brushed cotton: 40 °C, no softener, tumble low. Softener flattens the nap that makes it warm. Percale: 40 °C, and iron it while damp if you want the crispness — that finish is pressing, not weave.
The lambswool throw is dry clean or hand wash cool and dry flat — never in a machine, and never hung wet. The cotton throw goes in the machine at 40 °C, which is the reason it exists alongside the wool one.
All our stoneware is fired to 1,240 °C and vitrified, so it is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe to 220 °C. Two things will still break it:
The terracotta mugs and the reactive-glaze cups keep their depth of colour longer if hand washed. A dishwasher will not damage them, but the detergent dulls a reactive surface over a year or two in a way it does not dull the matte white.
Because the glaze reacts differently on every piece, we cannot send you an exact match for a broken one. If that matters, buy the set size you want now rather than adding to it later.
We do not offer a repair service for textiles — there is not much to repair on a duvet cover. What we do is replace anything that fails through a manufacturing fault within the two-year legal conformity period, and we pay postage both ways when we do.
